I am considering a mother-daughter trip to Paris the 2nd week of December. My daughter is 21 years old, fyi. This is our first trip to France and it would be 7 full days (not including travel). We are coming from the West Coast, US. While I know we can fill our entire time in Paris, I am very intrigued by doing these two day trips: Strasbourg for Christmas Markets and Epernay for Habits de Lumiere (with a visit to a Champagne house during the day). Any thoughts about these two day trips from Paris? Thank you!
You can take the High Speed Train from Paris to Strasbourg. It takes 1 hr 46 m for about $18.40. La Petite France is a district there with picturesque half-timbered houses. Strasbourg Cathedral is well worth a visit. To go to Epernay, it is probably best to book a small group tour to the Champagne area, about 10 hrs total which includes several tastings. The Habits de Lumiere is presented on 12, 13 & 14 for 2025, look for tours that include it. Most of the French Chateaux will be decorated for the Holidays. Start checking holiday events and book now if necessary, or a couple months before you go. If you've already have collected info, let us know. Bon Voyage!
