6 nights between Antibes and Paris

A small group of us, 6 a adults, two cars, are traveling from the south of France near Antibes, with our first stop Les Baux De Provence. We think we'll move north of Avignon the first night, with intent to go toward Beaune. Not sure if we should go toward Orleans or Reims next with final destination Paris.
We all have been to Avignon area before so not compelled to stay around there more than one night, leaving 5 nights between two other locations.
What would you recommend?

Patti,

It might help you get better targeted recommendations if you were to add a bit of information about what your interests (or disinterests) might be, including any physical limitations your group may have. For example, do you guys like cities or prefer the countryside? Medieval towns? Hiking? Biking? Can you climb steep hills? Do you like religious sites? Historical sites? Roman ruins and artifacts? Wine production? Museums? Châteaux?

Some possibilities would be Orange, Lyon, Pérouges, Vienne, Le Puy-en-Velay, la Roche de Solutré, Cluny, Dijon, Vézelay, Fontenay Abbey, Guédelon, Chartres, Fontainebleau, Provins, and I'm sure several other sites that others may suggest. With a better idea about what your group would find interesting I could describe which of these, if any, I might think would be of particular interest.

We are looking for nice walks, a few miles exploring a fun city or hillside, but not strenuous. We love wine!
I am not interested in Lyon, been once too big! Countryside and smaller villages better for driving.
Mostly trying to decide where to spend one night after visiting Les Baux. Thought we could get north of Avigion? Saw Orange, wasn't sure about housing that's not to far off the beaten path. Here only stay one night.

Then thought about staying in Beaune, I have been once and would include Dijon.
We don't want to bounce to a new place each day....so do we stay two or three nights?

Then next location from Beaune, North to Reims or more West to Orleans?. Would have two or three nights, depending how long we stay in Beaune?

All of us have been to France before, and only I have been in Beaune area before.

Any suggestions on which direction to head for unique villages, castles or wineries we shouldn't miss?

Thanks
