Hello! Can anyone recommend a five heart star hotel where you've stayed in the Loire Valley? And why do you recommend? Thank you!
I have not stayed in this hotel but have spent about 8 days in the town which I like.
Les Hauts de Loire in Veuzain ( formerly Onzain ), across the Loire from the Chateau de Chaumont

for that level of hotel, consult websites like Conde Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure and perhaps use the services of a travel agent
We LOVED Château de Pray. Beautiful chateau, beautiful setting, wonderful breakfast buffet included and gourmet restaurant on site. It was our favorite hotel of our last trip to France. https://www.chateaudepray.fr/
Hi,
I think the Auberge du Bon Laboureur in Chenonceaux could fit the bill. Right next to Chenonceau castle.
I have never slept there, but I had an excellent meal at the restaurant.
Oh I have stayed there three times (four times?) and yes it is so lovely. And there is nothing like being able to walk from your room over to the Chateau.
Here's the link for the upscale association of hotels, Relais & Châteaux. Hopefully you can find the English pages. I'm in France and can't get the English website to surface.
my wife still sighs about the Chateau du Pray, in Amboise
The first five star hotel in the Loire Valley opened 3 or 4 years ago, la Trésorière, in Tours. Since then a number more have either opened or been uprated: Minimes and (I think) Choiseul in Amboise, and Fleur de Loire in Blois.
However... Don't think these are necessarily the most elegant or luxurious hotel. They're just the hotel with the most services. A four star hotel may be way better suited to what you want than a five star but not have a business centre, gym, or any of the myriad assorted services that are required for rating as 5 star.
The most popular hotel amongst our clients has been the Domaine de la Tortiniere just south of Tours. It's a 4 star with a great restaurant and excellent but not snooty service.
