5 nights in Annecy too much?

Hi everyone,

You've been so helpful with my other questions that I was hoping someone would have an idea for this one.

Our first 4 nights in France will be in Lyon. Then the following...
Annemasse-2 nights(staying with a friend)
Chamonix -2 nights
Annecy-5 nights ( originally 4 nights but hopper plane to Italy does not leave on the weekend so will be another night in Annecy).
Leave france via Geneva Airport and fly to Pisa.

Am I staying too long in Annecy? Or can anyone recommend some day trips from there? We have a car reserved from the day we leave Lyon but not sure if we will keep it the whole time we are in Annecy.

Thanks so much for your help!

Peasandpickles,

We will be in Annecy for 4 nights next month & I keep asking myself the same question.

However, I think we will have plenty of things to do there, one of which will be to relax & enjoy the beautiful scenery... The lake, the nearby villages, the Alps in the background...

Here is a thought...
Why not add an extra night to Chamonix?

Enjoy your trip!

Thank You Priscilla,

That might be a good option to add the night to Chamonix. :)

I'm thinking of emailing my friend who lives near there and see what she comes up with. If it's anything different then I will let you know in case you may be interested.

Thanks Peasandpickles!

I would be very interested, however we won't have a car while visiting Chamonix & Annecy.

Agree with Priscilla -- add an extra night to Chamonix to "even" things out.

Thanks everyone for your input! We decided to add a day to Chamonix. Easy jet's flight schedule is making it hard to have enough time in Tuscany so we may just trip over to Aosta after Chamonix and possibly the Italian lake areas. Priscilla, I know you won't have a car but it's about 50 mins drive to Aosta from Chamonix and I imagine a train wouldn't be too long to get there. A quick way to be in Italy, have some great food in a cute town. By car you have to pay to take the Mont Blanc tunnel which is about 55Euro (?) so we would cross to Italy and stay a few nights in the area in place of Tuscany (sigh...). By train, you could by pass the toll but for you it may not be worth the time to get there.

The first time we stayed in Annecy we spent a week, w/o a car, and had no problem filling our time. And we we've been back twice.
