5 hour layover. Possible to do anything in Paris?

Coming from Africa to Paris and then on to the states and have 5 hours arriving at 6 am and leaving at 11:00 am. Is it possible to do anything with that much time? Would appreciate any suggestions or information.

Thanks

Unfortunately once you leave the airport you'll have probably already eaten up one of your hours and then you'll need to check in 2-3 hours before your flight...by then you'd reach the city and have to turn around to get back.
I suggest finding a nice croissant and coffee and come back to Paris to enjoy the splendor another time.

The airport is a great way to waste time especially if you like to eat or shop, or look for gifts. I spent more than 5 hours on a CDG layover and actually didn't mind it one bit. You don't have enough time to leave the airport and see the town, unfortunately.

5 hours is not close to enough time to consider leaving the airport. It is unlikely to take less than an hour for immigration, it is an hour into the city and an hour back and you need to be at the check in for the US flight 3 hours ahead. Even if you are checked through on one ticket, there isn't time as you need to be in security at least 2 hours ahead. The minimum time to leave the airport is 7 hours and that is tight.

I'll join the chorus here. There's a nice changing art exhibit, affiliated with the Louvre I think, in Terminal 2. You could spend an hour there and pretend you're in the real museum!
