5 hour layover in Paris

Hi,

We land in Paris, Charles de Gaulle at 9am, US flight to NY at 2pm, do we have enough time to go into the city & do some quick sightseeing? If not, is there anything nearby that we could see?

Thanks,

Mary

You do not have time. Plan on at least an hour between landing and being in the city and that is if everything goes well and you know where you are going. Then an hour back and it is recommended/required that you be at the airport 3 hours before departure time for a flight to the US. You might find that five hours is nothing at CDG and you will not have time to leave for even something closue by but if you want, you can take a look at the Aeroville Mall. http://en.aeroville.com/W/do/centre/accueil

Don't even think of going into Paris. You actually have far fewer than 5 hours when you consider disembarkation time, security., checking in at departure gate, etc. Probably at most well under 3 hours. And really there is nothing close by to see. Do some shopping, buy a newspaper, have a coffee.

Definitely not time to go into Paris. And the airport is so far out of the city that there's not really anything nearby, sorry.

You would need at least 7 hours in CDG to even think of it. You do need to be at the airport 3 hours ahead for US flights; it doesn't always take that long but sometimes it does and missing the trip home would be costly mistake.
