5 days in Provence in early August

Looking to build a set of tours likely with Avignon as my base. What are the must see areas and things in Provence. Solo traveler with no desire to rent a car. Thanks!

Pont du Gard, Nimes, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, all pretty easy on your own by train/bus. Take a tour of some of the villages of the Luberon - Roussillon, Bonnieux, Sault, Gordes, etc. Definitely get to a market/s, I'd do Avignon and at least one other (here's a list of the market days for provence towns and villages)).

If you plan on using public transportation, sleeping in Avignon is your best bet. Here’s what I would try to see:
Pont du Gard (30-minutes by direct train).
Nîmes (45-minutes by direct train)
Uzès (1h by direct bus)
Orange (30-minutes direct train)
Arles (30-minutes direct train)
Les Baux (1h 15m direct bus)
St-Remy (1h direct bus)

When we were in Avignon, we took the bus to Pont du Gard, joined a minivan tour of the lavender fields & museum/shop & the Luberon villages, took the train to Nime to see the historical highlights and explored Avignon.

Enjoy your time!
