5 Day Burgundy Itinerary

Hello all

I will be traveling to Burgundy in July for 5 days based out of Beune. I will have no car and rely mostly of doing day tours through various companies (i.e Safari Tours any experience with this tour group).

I wanted help deciding on some wineries to visit (Must do, can't miss, etc). I like both red and whit and have a very good foundational knowledge about the wine in this region. Can anyone recommend certain vineyards or wine cellars to visit? Paid or free

Also when visiting a vineyard and they supply a free tasting are you expected to buy wine? I am just curious about the proper etiquette for these situations.

They are so gracious to allow for free tasting it just seems weird to get up and leave after the free wine

All help is much appreciated!

Yes, if the tasting is free, you are expected to buy a couple of bottles. I would suggest you book a private tour with Max Erenau of Max's Burgundy Wine Tours. He will pick you up and take you for private tastings and cave visits at some really good wine makers. It's not cheap, but I consider it some of the best money we have spent in France. http://www.dijon-rentahome.com/wine-tours.html
