Our group of 5 adults will be arriving in Beaune by train and have 4 nights to enjoy in the Burgundy area before flying from CDG home to Canada.Originally we were keen on staying 4 nights in Beaune - do some wine tasting, cycling the Voice des Vignes for a full day, and enjoying the countryside. WE are looking forward to a slow pace. We are not wine specialists so the focus will probably be on experiencing beautiful scenery and villages. WE will be renting a car for at least 2 days or possibly for the 4 nights we are there..
- Is there a car rental that is convenient to the train station in Beaune?
We were entertaining the thought of staying for 1 night in a Chateau near Beaune but have found this Chateau, nearer to Dijon, that looks amazing for 1 night of something different and lovely. It is Chateau de Longecourt en Plaine. WE are now trying to determine how to get our car returned in Dijon to take the train to Paris for our next day flight from CDG. Some friends have mentioned the difficulty of driving into Dijon to return the car at/near the train station.
2.. We could drive from Longecourt en Plains back to Beaune and take train , via Dijon, to Gare de Lyon, Paris. That seems easier (less stressful) than driving into Dijon. I know it is backtracking though.
Your thoughts on these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
