We are traveling this summer ( 2 adults, 2 kids) and have never been to Annecy but have heard fabulous things. We are planning on spending 4 nights here of a 20 day trip. I am thinking we would use one full day to explore the town, waterfront, another day in Chamonix, and another day either biking or boat rental. my husband wonders if we need one more day in this area. appreciate thoughts as always.

Three full days should be enough to do what you want.

I've made several trips to Annecy, including a one-week rental, and had no trouble filling the time. On the other hand, you can see a lot in the time you've allotted. It partly depends on how much of the area surrounding Annecy you want to see.
