4 days between Nice and Marseille (27-30 Aug) - how to get most of it :)

Hello, guys!

Need your advise please :)

23 - 27 Aug we’ll stay in Nice for 4 days (plans: Monaco/ Ezze, Antibes/ St. Tropez, Saint-Paul de Vence).
Traveling with my friend who’ll need to leave France for 4 days (27-30 Aug) and will join me in Bordeaux on 31 August early morning

So I have 4 days (27-30 Aug) to spend between Nice and Marseille.
Can you please suggest any good places to visit - was thinking about calques in Cassis for 2 days.
Maybe Luberon villages for another 2 days (but I don’t feel comfortable to drive alone, I guess :)
Verdon Gorge (as an option) but as an organized tour - will appreciate any ideas as well as suggestions of reputed travel companies who do good tours

P. S. My flight to Bordeaux early morning on 31 Aug

Thank you !

Your flight to Bordeaux is from Marseille? You could spend the whole 4 days there. I just spent 6 days there (solo) last month and loved it. I did a half day boat trip from Marseille to the Calaques, also did a day trip by bus to Cassis one day and another day I did a day trip to Nimes by train. But if you have not been yet I would do a day trip to Arles (by train) rather than Nimes. And easy day trip by bus from Aix. More than fill up four days.

I think Aix is a wonderful city so you could also consider basing there the whole time but you'd need to check on how easy day trips to other places are. They are pretty easy from Marseille. And Marseille itself has a lot to offer.

There are also boat trips to the calaques from Cassis but other than the beach there is not much to do there. Cute little town, great day trip but for a 'base' I'd choose Marseille or Aix.

Sounds like a good plan :)
Will surely consider it
P. S. Yes, my flight to Bordeaux will be from Marseille.

Thank you very much once again!

From Nice, our favorite day trip was to Cap Ferrat including Villa Ephrussi, St-Jean, Villa Kerylos.
