3 days in Paris (June) - Saint Chapelle

Good afternoon,

With only 3 days in Paris (first timers), is it worth waiting in the line to visit Saint Chapelle? We would be purchasing tickets for a Saturday morning (9am), end of June. Also noticed there are renovations being done which may obstruct part of the view…

Thanks for any feedback!

Absolutely worth it! We had our second visit last spring. Have you purchased your tickets in advance? (I don't know if they even have a buy tickets day of line...but someone on the forum will know. But that wouldn't be a great idea.) Lines are long, but with your timed ticket you get in the appropriate line for your entry time then go through security. Look carefully at the shoulder height signs to find your appropriate line. They are easy to miss and it's a bit confusing when you first arrive because you just see lots of people and aren't sure where to go. Don't just go to the end of the line of the furthest line back. (which is our default behavior.) We got in the back of the line behind a guy who had the same time as us; with him swearing we were in the correct line. I checked for myself and we were in the wrong line. But then got in the correct line and then waited to get through security, and then enjoyed the magnificent beauty of Sainte Chapelle.

Hi KD,

Thank you for your tips!

We were planning on purchasing our tickets ahead of time….just a little hesitant after reading reviews on how bad these lines get and only having 3 days.

It's so spectacular - one of the true highlights of Paris. Since you are thinking ahead and can buy tickets, don't miss it.

The security lines are slower because of the proximity of the Palais de Justice. Even if slow, it is WELL worth it!

We had watched Rick’s episode, so we knew what it would look like. But walking in and seeing it in person, was way beyond what anyone could have imagined. It seemed as if the stained glass windows went sky high. It was one of those “take your breath away” moments. It is definitely worth the wait.

To me, the outside of Notre Dame is what is really impressive about it. Saint's interior is much more impressive than Notre Dame.

Lots of "saints" and "saintes" in Paris. Please specify, out of respect, Loves European food. Merci.

PSA - the stairway up to the stained glass is small and largely unmarked. It sounds crazy, but we actually witnessed people entering, lapping the lower level/gift shop, then leave.

PNW Patrick - that is crazy!
We are hoping to go up the stairs to see the stained glass right away and then take our time on the first floor/gift shop after.
