3 day itinerary for Provence

We will be visiting Provence at the end of May. Right now we have reservations for three nights in St Remy, but we are open to change.

Can you please share your three day itineraries for this area? I am finding it a bit difficult to prioritize. We will have a car.

We enjoy markets, exploring towns and villages, some history, and local food scenes.

We will be spending 3 additional days in the Cote d’Azur after Provence.

Thanks so much.

For 3 days, especially if this is a first time trip, I would stay in Avignon, and then do a day trip to St Remy on the market day (assuming your 3 days allow for that in the first place). Avignon is the transit hub for the region, and it is very easy to day trip to the little towns on mini bus tours, or take the train to Arles, and so on. Arriving in and departing from Avignon would also save time and make your next 3 day adventure to the coast easier to arrange transport, I would think.

Do you plan to rent a car for Provence? It would be helpful ther if you want to see some of the tiny places rather than Arles, Avignon, etc. But your visit is very short, so you wouldn't have any trouble filling your time with places that can be reached by train or bus. Without a car, St.-Remy will not be a convenient base, because it doesn't have rail service. It is connected by bus to Arles and Avignon.

It's unlikely a car would be anything other than an expensive annoyance for 2-1/2 days on the Riviera.

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in Provence has an extremely large market. It operates on Thursday and Saturday. The Saturday market is larger, I believe. Note that L'Isle is quite an attractive town, but it's hard to fully appreciate the architecture on market days with booths all over the place.
