I have visited the museum in 2002 but was involved in a car accident on the way to Le Mans and still in shock, so understandably didn’t really enjoyed the visit. But what I remember is that ofcourse the race cars are unique so certainly worth to see for a fan, but in terms of presentation I expected like the race a bit more let’s say worldclass experience, that’s not the case there are better museums in this respect nowadays. For the cars only worth the effort to my opinion. It’s some 20 minutes walking from tram station Guetteloup Pôle Santé Sud.
Visited the historic center on another occasion and enjoyed it very much and as acravan already remarks it’s very nice, I can recommend it wholeheartedly. Looks it’s easy to get there with the tram from the railway station. If you can combine this with the museum it’s to my opinion certainly worth a daytrip from Paris.
