24 hours near CDG

My wife and I are participating in an 8 day tour of Paris, Normandy, and Loire Valley in June 2024.
We scheduled our inbound flight to CDG from USA one day early, as we typically have a bit a jet lag on day 1.
Would appreciate a recommendation on where spend to one night near CDG, prior to returning to the airport to join our group around 1 PM the following day. A taxi/ride share 30 minutes or less would be fine.
Would enjoy seeing a small town, relaxing, taking a walk, and getting a nice dinner on the arrival day.
Thanks!

When you meet the group at CDG the next day, where will the group go? Are you starting in Paris, or immediately going elsewhere? The tour covers alot of ground in 8 days, so I would guess that your time in Paris will be short. I would take a taxi into Paris and spend the night and morning there. Stay in the 5th and just soak up the city. Maybe take a river cruise. Or just wander through the Latin Quarter and St. Germain.

Paris can be as relaxing as you want it to be.
But if you'd rather go elsewhere, consider Chantilly or Senlis.

for a small town that is interesting -- Senlis -- the transport is tricky but you should be able to get a cab from the airport and then arrange a cab back when you need it.

This was ten years ago but it gives you an idea of what this medieval town is like.

It would also make sense to go into Paris -- get a place in the Latin Quarter and just enjoy walking around and then take the RER B back to the airport -- or a cab.
