Our hotel is located in the 20th arrondissement of Paris and just wondering if anyone has some helpful tips about getting to Versailles. Train vs taxi etc.
Thank you
You’ll want to download the Bonjour RATP app and get familiar with the metro and RER stations near your hotel. The metro/train is the way to go. Taxis will be very expensive.
You’ll want to take the RER C to the Versailles Rive Gauche station. How you make your way to the RER C will depend on exactly where your hotel is. It may take a couple of connections on the metro.
RER-C service interruption this summer; you might want to check to see if your visit might be impacted:

Luckily our reservations are for September 13th but I’ll keep this website incase of September disruptions.
Thank you
The 20th is a very interesting area, sociologically and culturally,.... made it point to explore the area after seeing shortly seeing the cemetery. Still, not enough. A return trip is needed.
I suggest taking public transport to Versailles over the expense of a taxi.
We spent a month in the 20th 20 years ago and have visited it often since -- I like a corner of Paris outside tourist hell.
To get to Versailles you need to get to the RER C. This line is ALWAYS down in mid Paris -- that is an exaggeration but not much of one -- it has been flooded or under construction etc virtually every time we are in Paris which is once or twice a year.
The last time we went to Versailles we were in the 13th and could not take the C in central Paris but were able to take a metro to Javel and connect with the C there. The Ratp.fr web site will 'know' about construction or blocks and give you workarounds.
