2 Paris Questions please

1- Restaurant for an anniversary dinner with a view of (not from) the Eiffel Tower recommendations?

2- We will be staying at Le Meridein el Toile hotel. Getting to our restaurant near the Eiffel Tower... Taxi? Uber? Bolt?

Thanks for your recommendations!

Les Ombres atop the Musee Quai Branley (but not of it) has a stunning view of the ET through the roof. It needs booking well in advance. See if the room and the view meets your image of what you want.

I'd probably take the metro -- 1 from Port Maillot and transfer to 9 at Franklin Roosevelt on the Champs Elysees and then walk across the bridge. You could certainly take a cab or bolt or something. The hotel should be able to get a cab for you.

The G7 official Paris taxi app is very convenient to use and very reliable. The app itself is like the uber app.

I booked Les Ombres via Open Table and the booking on Open Table specified that I needed to include credit card info due to the cancellation/no show policy at the restaurant. This always seems fair to me, so I provided my credit card and successfully booked the reservation. The next day I got an email comfirmation from the restaurant. Later that same day I got another email from the restaurant saying my reservation had been cancelled because I had not provided my credit card info to them. The reservation still said it was active and confirmed on Open Table so apparently the restaurant cancelled me without informing Open Table and apparently Open Table must have not supplied the required credit card info they collected from me to secure the reservation,

Quite a process. I have used Open Table Internationally many times and booked with credit card info at busy restaurants many times and this is the first time it hasn't worked out. Anyway.... Les Ombres in all booked up so and we are still looking for dinner with a view in Paris for our Anniversary. Thanks for the recommendations!

How unfortunate to have done everything required of you only to be met with a snafu! Did you contact the restaurant directly? Sometimes after Open Table has said that nothing was available, I have contacted the restaurant directly and received the reservation that I wanted. Best of luck!

Weird. Hope you enjoy it. I had a birthday lunch there a very long time ago and the 10 days we were in Paris there were no openings for dinner reservations so we went with lunch. We had a table by the window that gave us a nice view of the river and of course the looming ET. I am sure this was several chefs ago. Hope the meal itself is wonderful. Ours was fine but the view was our object.
