2 nights in Paris

Our first trip to Paris is only 2 nights, and unfortunately we will be there for a public holiday - May 1st. We hope to get an early train into Paris, see the Louvre and the Eiffel tower on Monday. On Tuesday May 1st we plan on seeing Notre Dame and St. Chapelle.
Is the military museum worthwhile to see? A night river cruise? Any highlights I am missing?

Hi,

The military museum is most definitely worthy of your time. The section on WW1 has been expanded since the centennial. If you are into the history from Napoleon onward, set aside time for this museum. I'll be back in early June to check if the special exhibit is worth it, and especially the book/souvenir shop.

What you're missing...how about seeing Napoleon's Tomb after the Army Museum, towards the back

On Tuesday May 1st we plan on seeing Notre Dame and St. Chapelle.

According to a tourism website for Paris, Sainte-Chapelle is closed on May 1:

Musée de l'Armée is also closed on May 1:

You are in luck for Notre Dame although not for the towers or the crypt. If it's a nice day, you might want to just take a walk around Luxembourg Gardens or Parc aux Buttes Chaumont, and Île de la Cité (where Notre Dame is), Île Saint-Louis, etc. Exploring the streets and neighborhoods of Paris on foot is fun.

The Sacre Coeur is open:

Looks like the Jacquemart-André Museum is also open:

The Batobus hoho and other river-excursion boats look to be operating.

With regard to a river cruise, we've taken several and Vedettes du Pont Neuf is, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. Especially at night.
