We, a group of 5 friends (ages 65-67) are travelling Corsica in September for 11 nights. We fly home out of Ajaccio. We are trying to decide between Ajaccio (within walking distance of centre) or Porticcio (near Tourist office/ferry to Ajaccio) for our final 2 nights - a Friday and a Saturday . We fly out of Ajaccio at 7 am Monday so returning our car will need to be the night before.
Wherever we stay, we intend to take the ferry between the 2 for an afternoon anyway .
Which location would be easier to get a taxi or uber to airport at 5/530 in the morning?
Which city would have easier driving/parking?
I predict that we will want a leisurely pace after 9 nights of touring around so were not looking for a lot of touristy things to do - beach, walk, explore, enjoy the last couple nights in tavern with a view or cafe on ocean, etc.
Thank you for any suggestions or experiences you have had in either city.
