My husband and I are going to NW France, Oct-Dec. We have been in Paris twice this past winter but not NW France for some time. We are considering a year-long stay starting next summer based on our experiences there this winter. Looking for a city (e.g., Nantes, Rennes, Tours), safe neighborhood, airport/TGV nearby, cultural institutions, a good hospital, and beautiful architecture.
What cities would you recommend for our criteria? What is your favorite spot or type of experience there? Is one city better than another for American expats? Practical question - we prefer an AirBnB type housing to hotels. We need dependable internet; is that likely?
My husband does not speak French; however, I speak well enough for typical daily exchanges. Is that enough?
