We are spending two days/two nights in Collioure, France after 3 nights in Barcelona for a little relaxation on the Med. Then we have 1 night open before our week in Vaison La Romaine. Looking for road trip ideas/sights/etc. for the two days/1 night between the two towns. Maybe other stops in Languedoc- Carcassonne? Other things along the coast? Then visit towns in the Luberon/spend the night someplace there and more exploring in the morning- drive to Vaison La Romaine via Mont Ventoux. Looking forward to recommendations.

It's only about a 3 1/2 hour drive to Vaison so you can really stay anywhere you like! There are quite a few nice towns along the way.
I would suggest looking at Pezenas - a beautiful small town with ancient winding streets and lots of great shops and restaurants in the old center. Montpellier is a larger city but has a gorgeous town center.
Consider stopping in Narbonne or Beziers which both have beautiful cathedrals.
You'll also go through Nimes which is well worth a stop.

I love Montpellier with its university giving a youthful vibe - definitely make it your overnight stop.
On day 1 consider a detour to Carcassonne, however this would probably eat up your entire day. As previously mentioned, Narbonne and Beziers make for 2 delightful stops.
On day 2 consider heading to the walled town of Aigues Mortes, not far from Montpellier. The Pont du Gard, a spectacular sight, is also not far off your route. Nime's historic centre with the Arena and Maison Carree would also interest me.
