We will be visiting France and would like a guided tour (Car, driver, etc...) for 1 week.
Pickup in Paris, then to Normandy, Mont Saint Michele, down to Tours and theLoire Valley (castles and wine) then deposit us at a hotel near CDG airport. Any suggestions?? Thank you, Jane
At the risk of being "Capt. Obvious", have you looked at this:
This is a suggestion and not a recommendation because I have never actually used this service but I have heard of a company called Luxury France Tours that does a tour of the type that you describe in that it is completely customized to your preferred route and it would be just the four of you.
Private tour or otherwise that’s a lot of driving and at best a hurried journey. A family member took a tour like you are looking for and spent a day off visiting us in Normandie.
You might consult a travel agency or Google “private luxury vacations” I found an outfit called Kensington tours with a fantastic collection of private tours in France. Prices are $6000 to $10,000 or more PER PERSON!
That all being said the RS tour recommended by another poster sounds like a really great idea. So you have choices.
I have taken the Rick Steves tour referenced by Joe32F. It is a great way to see the area you want to visit. Much more efficient than doing it yourself and much cheaper than a custom driver/guide.
I am wondering if age and/or disability is the reason why you want this custom tour. The above referenced RS tour contains this note:
This is a very active tour! Most days are moderate to strenuously paced with 2–8 miles of walking, including hilly terrain and lots of stairs.
Considering exclusive use of a vehicle, driver/guide, including the driver's meals and lodging, $6000 to $10,000 per person sounds about right.
Thank you everyone!! I have some leads to follow now.
Your could try Virginie who is one the the main Rick Steves France guides but also has her own business on the side. https://virginiemoretravel.wordpress.com/
