Twice in the past I have used a France rail pass with a car rental option. But i can no longer find this option on the Rail Europe web site.
Does Rail Europe still offer car rentals with its passes?

Sorry, this pass no longer exists. Evidently, it wasn't a big seller and they discontinued the Rail and Drive passes last year. From our experience, it was often cheaper to get a seperate rental car and rail pass or a rental car and individual, point-to-point tickets.

We found it to be a great value on several trips involving serial car rentals.
It let us use the excellent trains to get from region to region while still giving us wheels to explore locally and see the countryside.

I used this too, and it was a great feature. But as noted, nowadays thanks to the intergoogles you can easily DIY for less.
