Taxi to airport

We are soon to return home and need to arrange a taxi from our apartment in the 7th (off Rue Cler) . We are pretty sure we were overcharged coming in (69euros), although the ride did take a bit over an hour with heavy traffic. Suggestions to arrange our return to CDG are appreciated. We have a lot off luggage so taxi is our choice. Any possibility, also, of credit card accepted ? Merci

If the ride from the airport took over an hour I don't think you were over charged at 69 euro. Keep in mind that there is an extra charge (1 euro each) for luggage as well. If you want to use a credit card for your return trip to CDG, ask about that when you phone for the taxi.

I took a taxi to the airport a year ago and it was €80. That was the price quoted by the hotel as well as the taxi company, there was a chart showing base rates plus luggage charges at the hotel. You did well.

If you have a smart phone check out Uber.com You set up an account in advance. When you want a pickup, you open the app, put in your pickup location and it tells you how soon a car will be there. Right now (10:30 California) the pick up time for rue cler is 5 minutes. You can also get a quote (showing 50-80 Euro for Rue Cler to CDG depending on what level car you request).

When you request a pickup the app shows you the driver and license number and you can watch on your phone as the car approaches. Payment is handled through your online account and includes the tip, so no need for cash.

We were in Paris in June and used
http://www.shuttle-inter.com/homepage.htm
3 adults with luggage - 55 Euros cash for transfer from an apartment in Montmartre to CDG
Pick up on time - 3 hours before flight - we find you need that much time at CDG for international flights
Arrived on time in a midsize Mercedes SUV with an English speaking driver.
Excellent service and value.

Steve, we used Taxis G7 yesterday from Le Marais, there is an English number to call the night before, 01 47 27 66 99, and we were very happy with them. There was 8.50 on the meter when he showed up, right on time, and the total to CDG was 60.40, mind you that this was at 7 am Sunday, little traffic.

Observations:

. G7 works pretty well, so does the other one with an English-speaking dispatcher

. Uber has been banned in some places, watching a blip move around eats data

. a pick-up three hours prior to departure at Roissy might be tight -- most first-timers would be better off with three hours at the airport

. you might not be the only one on a shuttle -- if you're picked up last and arrive late, too bad

. a fetched taxi will have money on the meter when it arrives -- it starts running from everwhere they were

. the old-fashioned way of having the hotel set one up the night prior still works
