I'm am going to Nice in September and would like to know if anyone has done a boat cruise on the Med? I think it would be beautiful to see the french riviera from the water. We will then be traveling to the Cinque Terra, would there be any crusies from that point?

The Cinque Terre has ferry type boat trips when the weather allows. Take the one that goes to Portovenere and back. Spectacular scenery.
Did not take any boat trips when I stayed in Villefranche but if you go to lunch or dinner at Plage Restaurant, Paloma Beach in Cap Ferrat you will get amazing views of the mainland as if you were at sea. The whole area is scenic whether on the sea or not when you drive the Corniches.

My favorite Mediterranean spot for a boat cruise is around Cassis. For a cruise from Villefranche-sur-Mer toward Monaco, see www.amv.sirenes.com, does not run daily. If your France focus is in the south, then Rick's Provence & French Riviera book covers more towns in that area than does his France book.
