Friends and I are traveling to Paris. Both departures and arrival times are the same. My ticket says IDTGV' but theirs says TGV. Are we on the same train?

iDTGV has some special rules that do not apply to regular TGV passengers. You can read about them on the iDTGV website and the Wiki
You must print your ticket and there are some luggage restrictions

If times are the same I believe you'd be on the same train, different cars.
