HELP! Paris to Giverny

Help! We will be arriving in Paris on Sunday and I was planning on visiting Giverny, taking the train.

(1) Is the train from St. Lazare to Vernon affected by the rail strike?
(2) If not, do you need to make train reservations ahead of time or can you just go to the station and buy a ticket?
(3) If train is not an option, has anyone used a tour service and gone by coach bus?

I would appreciate any responses as soon as possible. Many of my laid-out plans are needing back-up plans :)

Thank you.

The strike was announced for Thursday and then extended through Friday. At the moment, trains to Vernon do show as running on Saturday. We haven't seen any news to suggest further extensions, but check again online or with local sources to see what happens on Sunday or later in your stay.

Be sure you check closing day for Monet's Garden...I think it is Monday.
Also, when you have confirmed your plans, you can skip the long line for the Garden by purchasing your ticket(s) online, in advance of your visit.
There is a lovely museum in Giverny, well-worth a visit.

Thank you for your replies to my query. I'm hoping that all will be fine for next week.
