My husband and I will be traveling to Europe this spring. We have been to Paris twice before and will be spending a couple of days there before heading to Barcelona. Can any one recommend some day trips outside of Paris.

Or a half-day trip to Chateau Malmaison, which can be reached in about 20 minutes by bus from La Defense.

Limitless possibilities !! Reims is also beautiful , the coronation site of most French kings , forty five minutes from Gare de L'Est on TGV . We also visited St. Denis , just outside the city limits and reachable by Metro ,where most of the French Kings and Queens are buried ( wonderful funerary art ) , but if you have not been to Chartres , I would pick that first .

My favorites are Versailles (rent bikes in the garden - so fun), Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau.
