11th Arrondissement

Just found out that we'll be staying in the 11th Arr. this summer for the month of June. It's at a sort-of student hostel on Rue Titon.

Anyone have any recommendations for restaurants, boulangeries, or just general stuff to do in the 11th? (Specifically, near the Nation metro station).

Also, in general, what is this area like? Any tips/advice is appreciated!

Lots of restaurants, wine shops, department stores, etc., etc. in the Nation area. Market day is Saturday morning on Cours de Vincennes. It is very much a "neighbourhood" .... you won't run into many other tourists. There are about 5 different metro lines to choose from, so you can easily get to wherever you decide to go. I like the 11th a lot. We always stayed at a hotel on rue Philippe
Auguste until it got all tarted up under new management and even the resident cat disappeared.

If you look at these results of the best baguette in Paris contest from 2012-2016, you'll see some bakeries near you. http://parisbymouth.com/best-baguettes-paris/

One of the posters knows Nation very well and gave me a tour of the important buildings there, the statue, and the history a couple years ago. Maybe that person will be able to answer your post.
