I am planning to visit Paris mid-June. It will be my first time visiting Paris.; therefore it will be appreciated if anyone can advise which area/areas that I should stay. I am looking for the location that is safe and convenient to the tourist attractions in the city. Thank you!
A safe and convenient location is right in the center of the city on Ile Saint-Louis. There are several hotels on the island, and It is as central a location as can be had. The metro is close by so getting around is easy. If you stay on the island, we can refer you to several places to eat, including a great little breakfast place.
single digit arrondissements.
I liked our most recent stay in the 6th (adjacent to the 7th St Germain area; not necessarily near Montparnasse.
Lovely!
But, we did stay on Isle St Louis once when we rented a great apartment. Doesn't get more central than that.
If you look at a map of Paris, you'll see that the arrondisements spiral out from a point centered on Notre Dame. Arr. 1,4,5 and 6 are closest to it, and the Seine. You won't go wrong with a hotel in any of them, Our preference has been to stay in the Latin Quarter, in the 5th. But pick a hotel close to a metro station, because the usual tourist attractions are too spread apart to walk everywhere.
Thank you all for your advice.
