Unpretentious, Inexpensive, and Delicious in Latin Quarter Paris

Les Fêtes Galantes is a small restaurant run by an old couple who started it in the Mid-80s. The husband cooks, and his wife serves. It is located on a quiet street, near the Pantheon, but no stream of tourists. 5 years ago, the first time we went there for dinner and were so impressed with their food, especially their tomato soup, it is the best tomato soup we have ever had. They serve classic French dishes, each one is delicious and reasonably priced. We went there several times since and enjoyed every dish we had. 5 years later, we went back there in Jan. 2024, and we’re so happy to see the restaurant survived the Covid. The husband still cooks, but his wife no longer works there due to some health issues, a young girl serves. In 2 weeks, we had 3 dinners there and loved every dish we ordered.

The Latin Quarter has not been a place I always check out. Your personal recommendation does certainly pique my interest in going there, above all, where the restaurant is exactly situated. Good that it survived the pandemic. I'll be back in Paris this summer and will go this restaurant.

Thanks for this tip.

Thanks for your interest. it's easier if you use Google Map. The big landmark is Pantheon, 2-3 min walk from the Pantheon. The street is 17 rue de l Ecole Polytechnique, crossing St.. is Rue des Carmes. Hope you have a good time in Paris this summer.
