Solo Woman Traveling to Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Nice - Hotel/B&B recommendations with A/C

Hi! Planning a last-minute trip (I know) to Barcelona - Costa Brava - Marseille - Aix en Provence - Nice in July. Needing to secure lodging quickly in Marseille, possibly Aix-en-Provence (maybe just day trip instead) and Nice. Looking for reasonably-priced, walkable from town center (won't have a car), safe neighborhood and walk there, and A/C (traveling in July).

Thank you for your always thoughtful insights!

In Marseilles, I stayed on two trips at the Hotel Carre Vieux Port. Modern, great staff, wonderful location, reasonable price. It's literally around the block from the boat basin and the nightlife. If you want great pizza or Italian food, try Chez Vincent Il Vesuvio, a 5 minute walk from the hotel at 25 rue Glandives (+33 4 91 33 96 78). Get there early or make a reservation! Very few tourists know about this place and it's not to be confused with the Chez Vincent on Avenue des Chartreux. There are rumors that since the passing of Rose, the owner and oldest restaurateur in Marseille, that the resto has closed. Sad if that's the case.

We liked the Hotel Solara in Nice . Nice area . Good ac . Staff were super helpful and kind . Not a fancy place , it’s actually the top two floors of a residential building , so it has a controlled entrance , very safe . Would stay there again .
