Small Hotels in Central Paris

My husband and I will be staying in Paris for 6 nights starting at the end of the month. Our first trip to Paris. We are looking for recommendations for a small hotel, maybe 12-15 rooms or less. It needs to be within walking distance of some of the tourist attractions and/or a Metro station. We are older and don't need to be located in a super hip, trendy neighborhood with a lot of night life. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks much!

What is your budget in euros? September is a very busy time in Paris so you might not have as many options as you might think. Do you need an elevator? A private bathroom? Also, you may want to post this in the France Travel Forum. I think that will get more eyes on your question. I am interested tin seeing the responses because I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Paris and the smallest had 19 rooms (Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais).

We like Hotel Bosquet located a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower. Breakfast is included in the room rate and Rue Cler is nearby with a street market and restaurants.

You didn't indicate your budget, but don't ignore the possibility of a hotel on Ile St Louis. Depending on their vacancies the prices can be very competitive with other areas. Check out Hotel des Deux-Iles and Hotel de Lutece -- they have the same owners. There is also Hotel Saint-Louis that is on the same street. Those three are as centrally located as one can get, and with the Metro one can go anywhere with no trouble at all. There is nothing like staying right in the heart of Paris. Most hotel breakfast in Paris are (in my opinion) overpriced but there is a lovely local place for breakfast named St. Regis on the same street as the hotels mentioned.

Look at Hotel Relais Bosquet. As others have mentioned, better take what you can get: at this late stage you are hoping someone else cancels. Paris very busy in September and you will pay accordingly.

Hotel Familia is small and plain (not sure how many rooms) and very reasonable and recommended by RS. Nothing fancy, but the staff are very nice, and the location on the Left Bank is perfect. It's within walking distance of Notre Dame, The Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens and many other places. Good luck. Wherever you stay in Paris, it won't be the hotel room you'll remember, most likely!
