Seek central Paris hotel w/elevator

My husband and I will be in Paris the 1st week of May, 2019 and are still looking for a quiet room with at least a queen bed, private bath with shower and not far from Isle de la Cite, either bank or the Marais. Prices are higher than we expected, and elevators and queen beds seem rarer than in years past... so recommendations are welcome. Thanx in advance, Marilynn.

This forum is for reviews from members who have recently been in France. You may find what you are looking for in one of those reviews. However you are more likely to receive help if you post this question over on the France forum under Destinations. When you do that, please also include your hotel budget. But since it is less than 2 months until your arrival it is quite possible that those rooms you are looking for at a more affordable price were booked a while ago.

It’s hetting late to get the good cheap hotels , but try for Hotel Diane / it ticks all your boxes , but it books up by word of mouth / they book via their website not a booking engine .

Marilynn,

Make sure to check Booking web site. They have boxes suitable best for all of your requirements. You can choose lift/elevator access, lower bath or shower, double bed. And then check with the hotel directly. It will definitely narrow the choice and make your life much easier :)

Also, ask for a measurement of the bed. Queen size in Europe is different than in U.S. They are often referred to as grand or even king, but if you get size measures you see it is closer to queen. Just google to get the measurement differences.

We stayed at the Hotel College de France in June 2014 - located between the Luxembourg Gardens and Norte Dame with a lift, double beds and currently quoting May prices of $185 per night, breakfast included. It’s a possibility.

Marilynn,
We stayed 5 nights at the charming Hotel Marais Paris Caron de Beaumarchais in Le Marais. Centrally located to sights & restaurants. Metro is a 5 minute walk away. Well appointed, delicious breakfast, small lift, & quiet upper floor room with balcony. We were there several years ago and would not hesitate to stay there again! www.carondebeaumarche.com.

Thanx all; I found a nice place in the Marais at 156 euro/day, after looking at many and checking out your ideas. Your help was much appreciated. Paris in the springtime, here we come! =}
