RS Travel Forum Chambre d'Hote Tip Was A Winner: Les Cordeliers in Sarlat

Recently returned from the Dordogne River region. We stayed at a chambre d'hote (B&B) in Sarlat which had been recommended not only here on Rick's website but in his France 2014 book as well. Was terrific! Les Cordeliers, across from the medieval old town, was a lovely place to call home for 5 nights. Hosts did an amazing job making sure everyone was accommodated, from umbrellas in the foyer to a snack room offering not only snacks, but beer and wines. Gratis! Wow! Rooms were spacious and elegantly simple; rates remarkably low.
Rick is on to something here!!

We just returned from the Dordogne region and also enjoyed Les Cordeliers. Hosts Chris and Amanda did our laundry for us free of charge!

I agree completely. We stayed four nights back in 2011. I loved the open kitchenette that allowed me to make a good cup of tea after a day of sightseeing. And having cookies and chocolate bars to enjoy with it - talk about restorative!

The owners loaned me their iPad when I mentioned i was having difficulty with my device. They also gave us lots of tips on our sightseeing options.

The room was huge and spotless.

We would return in a heartbeat.
