We are arriving from Tours to the airport in the afternoon and depart the next day around noon. Wondering if there is a recommendation for a hotel in Roissy. Given the time we have it would be nice to walk around a park or street , have dinner there and make our way to the airport in good time in the am. Rather then spending the time in an airport hotel.
No input from travellers? Just bumping
We have utilized the Sheraton at CDG a few times. I can’t recall any references to Roissy itself but Senlis is sometimes mentioned as close enough to CDG to stay at. However, you will need to take a cab to and from I believe.
We just stayed in the Roissy area in the Hilton after two weeks in Provence. We took the train from Lyon and went straight to CDG, spent the night and took off the next morning on a flight back to the US. We were tired and wanted a quick getaway in the morning. The Hilton was dated (no USB ports in the rooms, etc.) and cost $300. But it was clean and comfortable. Not sure you'll find a park or much walking area unless you leave the airport area - and then you'll have a little hassle the next morning getting back and finding your terminal, gate. Very convenient. But not your finest night in/near Paris.
A few days ago we took the TGV from Lyon to CDG and stayed at the Residence Inn CDG for 230 Euro with free full buffet breakfast. Rooms had kitchenettes as well so we could heat up a dinner. Very modern and comfortable. Soundproof rooms as well! Pillows were VERY nice.
I’ve done the Hilton, the Sheraton and Ibis. All were fine. Ibis is very basic and in my opinion the Sheraton is woefully overpriced. I’m flying into Paris and a couple of months and landing at like 10 PM and I’m staying at the Hilton for about $190.
Update- I am here now at the Aiden hotel in Roissy. Took a taxi from CDG for 20 EU. The hotel is charming, eclectic, great checkin, bar and restaurant. The rooms were fine with coffee etc and nice updated bathrooms. As we had several hours we walked around Roissy which is a small village with beautiful walking paths and green space. Would defo recommend if you have a longer layover at CDG. The shuttle must be booked for 8EU pp. only goes to the airport. Several hotels in the area but all looked institutional.
