Restaurant Recommendations in Bayeux

Does anyone have restaurant recommendations close to the Bayeux train station? We are planning to take a Normandy tour, and will probably want to have dinner in Bayeux before returning to Paris. Thanks!

The station isn't located near the center of town. Will you be using the trains for your tour, or a tour company van (that will probably drop you off in the center of town)? There are several great restaurants at all price points in the center of town...

The train station is about a 10 minute walk to town. I don't remember anything close to the train station where you could eat. Bayeux has several nice places to eat. I don't remember the names of the places I ate, but all were very good and I just looked at the menu posted outside and went in. I would allow at least 2 hrs to get from the train station, find a place to eat, and then return to the station. Bayeux is a great town. If you are on a guided tour, the guide can also help out with suggestions.

Hi,

"...close to the Bayeux train station.?" When you step out of the station, ca 2 mins opposite of the station is the " Hotel de la Gare." It has also a small bar and restaurant. I don't know if the hotel serves dinner but lunch for sure. I had lunch there shortly after arriving from Paris ( around noon) to do a day trip in Bayeux.

Dinner service in France doesn't start until 7 p.m. at the very earliest. The last train is just after 8 p.m., so you'd miss it.

If you can, one of the best restaurant experiences I had in France was at La Rapiere which is about a 10 minute walk from the Gare de Bayeux. But the resto serves lunch at noon and dinner from 7PM. If you're not staying in Bayeux for the night, you don't have the time to savor the food. Desolee :>(
