We have two nights in Paris and sadly our favorite restaurant is closed during that time. We are staying at Locke Le Jardin de Verre in the Latin Quarter close to the 5th. Recommendations appreciated for French Fare we’ve been in Italy for a month.
Here are a few restaurants in the area that I have enjoyed in the last couple years.
Lilane about a 5 minute walk, warm service, beautiful presentation, quiet, refined dining room.
La Forge about a 10 minute walk, more casual, the chef prepares dishes like Duck Confit and cassoulet from his native southwestern France.
Hestia about a 20 minute walk, ignore the fact that it is on the horrible Rue de la Huchette, welcoming service and fantastic food, lively dining room, opened just over a year ago.
three that we enjoyed in September--
1. Le Petit Pontoise lepetitpontoise.fr
2. Le Petit Bal Perdu lepetitbalperdu.com
(If you like seafood, this is a small and very casual place for fish, seafood, and frites:)
3. Bar a Iode On Bl St Germain, (it does have good wine choices like the other restaurants above, just noting that it is much more casual.)
one that we tried to go to but was always full from earlier reservers-- Hugo and co at 48 Rue Monge. It had good reviews and good word of mouth recommendations, but we didn't eat there so just passing on what others told us on this one.
bon Apetit!
One of my favorite restaurants in the Latin Quarter serving delicious, unpretentious French bistro cuisine is La Jacobine - lajacobine.fr
Reservations highly recommended as they get busy - we were unable to get seated for dinner the last we showed up without one so made one for lunch the next day without a problem.
