We stayed in Les Terrasses Royales in March over spring break and I'm just finding the time to review. There are two vacation properties around the corner from each other. We stayed in the 4BR (didn't see the other one). The short review is: come for the contemporary, clean, comfortable house with great views of the Amboise castle, stay for the amazing concierge-like service from Franck. The house itself is set up on a hill where you can see the castle from the yard and upstairs windows. It's clean and comfortable, with good beds. Linens are provided, but if you stay for less than one week, you will be charged for towels. We are a family of four with a tween and young teen and we were joined by two adult cousins. Plenty of room for all of us. The driveway is plenty large, but we rented a van and it was a tight entry into the driveway. The house is easy walking distance to the Amboise caste, Clos de Luce, and dozens of restaurants. It is at the top of a hill, so take it slow and you will be fine.
Franck and Lawrence are the owners and you will interact the most with Franck, who speaks excellent english. We arrived on Sunday and the rental car counters were closed, so he charged a small fee to pick us up on Sunday and then take me to a local car rental place on Monday that was much less expensive. He also helped me turn in the car. Franck helped us make restaurants reservations and gave great recommendations. At the end of the trip, we were at the train station waiting for our train and Lawrence made a special trip to drop off my son's inhaler that we left in the house before the train arrived. These are super sweet people that deserve all the business you can give them.
I have no business connection to the hotel and I don't leave frequent reviews, but I wanted to spend the time to write this one up and encourage others to stay if you plan to stay in Amboise (which is a fantastic base for Loire Valley). I reserved through Booking, but I think the website charges less.
