Recommendating a Wonderful Chateau Hotel in the Loire Valley

My husband and I stayed 3 days at Chateau Des Briottieres near Champigne. This is a small luxury hotel. I found the Chateau to be centrally located in the Loire Valley. The Chateau is a country home of a Duke and has 17 available bedrooms. The movie "Impromptu" was partially filmed here (which paid for a new roof for the Chateau). The owners (a duke and duchess) and their family are friendly, interactive with their guests. The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and clean. The atmosphere is restful and quiet. I loved walking the beautiful grounds as a welcome break from touring the Loire Valley.

The Chateau is located near Champigne in the Loire Valley. It is a great location for visiting the sights in the Loire Valley. You do need a car to get to the Chateau. Driving in the Loire Valley is not a problem.

What other cities/towns did you visit in the Loire Valley?
Did you travel to other regions as well?

I wonder if this is an advertisement for this Chateau Hotel... "Recommendating?"

The OP only has 2 posts, both on this thread.

Sorry about being slow to answer your questions. Loire Valley has many Chateaux. My personal favorites where: Chateau de Villandry, Amboise, Cheverny, and Chenonceau. My very favorite chateau was Chenonceau. This Chateau was Chenonceau. This Chateau is nicknamed "the Ladies Chateaux". A favorite place to visit for the Queens of France. The grand ballroom spans across the Cher river and has WWII historical significance.
The towns we saw were Chinon, Angers, and Amboise
My very favorite historic site was the Abbaye de Fontevraud. It is located about 13 Km from Chinon. Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry II, Richard the Lionhearted are buried here.
If you are a wine lover visit the caves and cellars in Loire Valley.

Note of csution: Anger is a busy modern city. In the historic district there are pickpockets. Avoid the market . The market is very narrow lanes and was quite crowded when I was there. Two people in front of me had their bags stolen. I quickly left the market

By the way, I am not writing a promotion for the Loire Valley. I live in Chicago and am a retired nurse. I have visited France several times.

I have toured the Burgundy Area. I stayed at the Le Cep Hotel in Beaune. Beaune is a walled medieval town. Lots of great wineries.

Another area I toured was the outlying area of Paris. Spent 2 days at Versailles. Also visited Fontainebleau , Chamagne, and Monet's gardens in Giverny.
This year I plan to see Northern France and Western France.
