I am staying at a hotel in Sainte Germaine next week and am looking for a restaurant with meals in the $10-$20 range. Any suggestions? I don't mind walking to another area if there will be more options. Thank you.
Good luck. You are in an expensive part of the city. Traveling won't get you many bargains either. At $10-20 look for crepe carts or falafel stands. If that is your budget you won't eat well in Paris, unfortunately.
You mean St. Germain des Pres in Paris and not St. Germain en Laye outside Paris.
We have a friend who swears by Cosi in the 6th, the Paris St. Germain neighborhood. It's not the same as the US Cosi chain. The 5th, Latin Quarter, has a lot of inexpensive restaurants.
Yes Sainte Germaine in Paris
"Yes, Saint Germain in Paris."
We ate at Le Saint Placide a couple of time last year at 127 rue de Rennes. Our dinners came to $35-40 for two people (just sparkling water to drink). The staff were cordial and the food was fine.
I concur with the poster above. The 5th Arrondisement will offer you many ethnic restaurants which are more reasonable. Look for creperies and you can buy baguette sanwiches all over for take out.
The 6th Arrondisement is foing to be pricey.
