Places to stay in Arles

My family and I will be staying in Arles for four nights this summer. Does anyone have suggestions for a reasonably priced, nice place to stay in or around here? We prefer smaller more personal places like B&B's over large hotels. We'll have two adults and two teenagers (18 and 16). Thanks!

For a quad room under 100 euros, see www.hotel-regence.com. If you'll have a car, Rick's France book lists some places outside of town that have swimming pools.

I stayed at Hotel Regence with a car. There is free parking across the street. The hotel is across the street from the river and next to the Wall. It was easy to drive in and out. If I was looking for a place in Arles I would stay there again.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Calendal (www.lecalendal.com) as part of a RS tour. The hotel was well located, steps away from the amphitheatre. The rooms were large and some had connecting rooms that would be great for your family.

Thanks for the tips! We've looked at both places and are checking for availability

We liked our stay at the Hotel De L'Amphitheatre in Arles. Easy enough walk from the train station with luggage, nice location for seeing the town. Pleasant and friendly staff. Our room for two with private bathroom and bathtub was huge. I do not know if quads are available. The hotel had an arrangement with a municipal garage few minutes away; there may be parking closer but we did not inquire..we only had our car for the last two days of our stay and were more than happy to walk a few minutes from the garage to the hotel rather than attempt driving the narrow, winding streets. We loved Arles and it worked very well for our stay in that area, whether using public transportation or car, or both, as in our case. Have a safe and happy trip.

Hotel Calendal is great. Just stayed 4 nights there and loved it. It has a small hotel feel. Had a family room, #43, with an amazing view of the Roman arena just across the lane. The ancient theater was 50 feet away. About 8 restaurants within 2 blocks. They also have a café with inexpensive food and drinks as well as a very good outdoor breakfast buffet. One block from the mandatory Arles Saturday market. I would not stay anywhere else.
