We are visiting Eze at the end of September. I want to experience Eze in the evening when the crowds have dissipated. I think the Chevre d'Or restuarant may be too fancy for my taste. Will I be able to find a table at the bar (they don't appear to take reservations for the bar on the website) to eat? Or is there someplace a little more casual where I can eat where I can make a reservation?

Chevre d'Or might be "fancy" but it is still one of our most favorite restaurants we have had the pleasure of dining at. The food was exquisite and the view was amazing. Go for it!

I agree, go for it. We went for lunch one day, unplanned, dressed VERY casually and were made to feel welcome. We received fabulous service, we still talk about the meal we had, which isn’t really like us, we’re not ‘foodie’ people but it was delicious.
My main take away from our experience was we were treated to the same exquisite service, dressed in our chain store shorts and T shirts as the other guests dressed in their designer clothes, diamonds and posh watches. Mind you this could also be because we were polite to the waiting staff, unlike some of the aforementioned guests!
