Paris VRBO

Wanted to share a great Paris flat near the Eiffel Tower that we found through VRBO.

We love Rick and his suggestions. We have stayed previously at the Hotel Lutece on Ile St Louis, and at the Hotel Bretonnerie in the Marais district. Loved them both and have loved staying in different districts. I use Rick Steve's book like a travel Bible whenever we are in Europe.

This trip I decided to try VRBO and was not disappointed. Check out VRBO # 268772, "Eiffel Tower with amazing views/Rue Cler"

Being so close to the Eiffel tower was a new experience but we loved it. It was truly wonderful to have a view of the tower, especially at night with the wonderful lights. The first time I saw it so close and lit up, it literally took my breath away. The flat is located near some great cafes, boulangeries, wine shops, fromageries, etc. Some nights we had fresh bread, cheese, and wine and that was dinner! So delicious!

Didier, the owner, was so helpful and a delightful gentleman. Located in the 7th arrondissement, the apartment is close also to Rue Cler, Napoleans tomb, the War Museum, Rodin museum and the Trocadero. Not too far, also, from the d'Orsay and the Louvre.

We rented it for $161.00 per night June 2017. I am quite sure a hotel with this view would be close to $1000/night, and this place is well appointed with more space than a hotel room.

I hope Rick starts listing more VRBO or Air B&B options as they give the reader some great options!

Safe travels!
Rebecca

Thanks for the review. I too like the area and am staying near there in September at a vrbo too.

The problem with VRBO and Airbnb rentals in Paris is that many of them are illegal. The rules are complicated. I doubt that Rick would be interested in listing such places as it would take some time-consuming research to determine if each apartment is a legal rental.
