I am looking for a recommendation for a neighborhood and hotel for a family of 4 (2 kids, 6 and 8 years old) for this June. I am looking at Rue Cler/Saint Germaine/Marais or near Luxembourg Gardens but open to other options. We will be staying for 6 nights. Thank you.
we stayed at hotel jeanne d'arc with our kids. The first time we all shared the blue room that had a big bathroom and 2 double beds. the second time, they were college age, so we got 2 rooms.
Hi tjw,
I can recommend the Londres Eiffel Hotel and the Hotel Empereur in the 7th arrondissment. Both hotels are close to Rue Cler, the Eiffel Tower, Napoleon's Tomb, and Rodin Museum. Many cafes and restaurants in the area. Good access to busses and the metro. If you are traveling in June, I'd lock something down quickly. Hope you have a wonderful time in Paris!
You will probably get more responses if you post this question under "Destination Q&A, France".
Do you just want a room with enough beds for everyone? Or would you rather have a suite with a separate bedroom? If the latter - then look at the suites in the Hotel Latin Excelsior. MUCH better for a family especially for 6 nights. Near to Luxembourg Gardens, ice cream shop up the street as is a McDonalds (if you must).
You should look at a 1 bedroom at Citadines Saint Germain de Pres. We stayed there last May and though the room is simple, it is large and perfect for a family, the hotel is right on the Seine, and the neighborhood is fantastic. You can walk in just a few minutes to the St. Michel fountain and there are restaurants of every type in every direction down each street. You are a short walk to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Pont Neuf and the Louvre (all in various directions), etc.
Anyway, you would get a separate bedroom with a queen bed, closet, tv and full length mirror and a family room with a sofa bed that is more like a day bed and trundle so great for 2 kids, a tv, desk/table, and full length mirror. The bathroom is separate such that the toilet is in a separate room from the tub/shower and sink which is helpful for a family. The hotel offers breakfast, but since it was pricey, we usually stopped at a creperie and grabbed something to eat as we walked. Overall though, the location and space in the room was fantastic.
We have stayed at the hotel Dauphine St. Germaine maybe five times over the years. They do have a couple of suites and connected rooms.
It is not cheap, but the location is excellent, and you can work a deal to get breakfast included if you book on their site. Also, the concierge and staff are most helpful. Enjoy your trip.
