My family and I are visiting Paris in February. I'm looking at the Signature in St. Germaine, Novotel Les Halles and the
Hotel de la Bretonnerie.
I am wary about all three for a variety of reasons:
1. Signature (location is maybe a bit too far out of the way?? or am I being bananas??)
2. Novotel (location is perhaps quite busy and loud??)
3. Hotel de la Bretonnerie (unnervingly less expensive and some of the rooms for families look like they have super odd configurations)
Should I keep looking altogether?? Are all of these totally fine?? If so, is one better than the other??
Thank you!!!
We just got back from Paris, 6th trip, and stayed in the Hotel Relais de Halles……brand new area for us and neighborhood. We enjoyed being so close to so much going on….and our 5th floor room window opened up on the street but our sound machines at night kept the noise out. It was a wonderful new location and I would recommend that area again…….so many good stores in the Westfield Forum that you can frequent if you need anything.
I've never stayed in any of these 3 but here is my opinion.
To me the Novotel is the one that is too far out. I usually stay I the 7th (Hôtel Muguet or Hotel Relais Bosquet) which many on the forum feel is "too far" but the Novotel is on the other side of the Champ de Mars/Eiffel Tower so even further. From my normal locations it takes me 25 minutes to walk to the Musée d'Orsay. I have also walked "home" from the Louvre and from Notre Dame. The Novotel would add 10-15 minutes onto that.
The Signature is well-located.
I don't know anything about the Bretonnerie. Might be a noisier location.
