I just returned from Paris and, following the suggestions of several posters, stayed at the Hotel Diana in the Latin Quarter. The hotel is inexpensive by Paris standards, has clean and pleasant rooms and is in a fun neighborhood. You are also just a few blocks from Notre Dame, metro and RER stops, and other Paris sights. I was traveling as a single woman and felt very safe in the hotel and neighborhood. I would highly recommend this hotel.
How much is "inexpensive" by Paris standards please? And, how are they to be contacted for reservations?
Thanks,
GS
I paid 85 euros a night for a small single with bathroom. Breakfast is 10 euros extra. You can book a room from their website: http://hotel-diana-paris.com/en/.
Is Hotel Diana near a metro station?
It's one block from the metro and a few blocks from the RER.
Mstaylor: thank you for the info! Did you stay in the single that overlooks the street, or the 'student' room that overlooks the courtyard? Looks like it has a small frig?
I stayed in the student single. There was a small fridge in the room.
Thanks Mstaylor! I have my eye on that one for my solo trip. I can't tell if the bathroom is upstairs with the bed, or downstairs? I appreciate your inside info :)
