Paris hotel and restaurants

My wife and I just returned from six weeks in Europe with the highlight being our first week in Paris. We stayed in the Hotel Bonaparte in the Luxembourg Gardens area, and the service and comfort were exactly as described in the RS review. We ate several times at the Creperie du Clown around the corner and the service and quality were very good. The owner is Anne-Claire Laplagne and she is married to Vincent Laplagne who also owns a restaurant that is not in the latest RS book. That restaurant is called Relais Odeon and is directly across the street from the Odeon Metro station. We ate there only once, and even though the place was packed, the food and service were excellent and we would recommend it without reservation. It would probably be listed in the RS book as $$, but a splurge well worth the money. We also took Rick's advice and learned enough French phrases (along with many smiles) and never encountered a rude person on the entire trip. We have been traveling with RS information for over 14 years and have never been disappointed.

We've eaten at the Relais Odeon!! They have got a fantastic Thai salad and their fries are good. Especially wonderful is the desserts. My favorite is the crystalized lemon tart. Sweet and tangy. The prices are high but then this is Paris. I especially love eating outside at one the tables in their courtyard when the weather is nice.
