Paris hotel and cafes

I have been to Paris several times but we are staying in a hotel that is new for us.
My daughter, granddaughter and I are staying at the Hotel Ares Eiffel in October - would appreciate
any feedback.
Also I like many cafes - but think Cafe Varenne is classic French. Any other recent
suggestions would be appreciated!

Merci!

Bonjour Cocoaguide,

Hotel Ares Eiffel is a wonderful hotel. It has great service and an excellent breakfast. It's within walking distance of the Eiffel tower and other attractions. You will definitely enjoy the location.

Besides Cafe Varenne, some Cafes nearby to explore would be Aux Cerises, and Carmine Cafe.

For dining, these restaurants are a good option.

If you're near the Eiffel, you're near St Germain des Pres and all the options in that area. Your kidlins might enjoy the history of Cafe Flore and Deux Magots and Brasserie Lipp among others. The side streets in that area have many choices. I also enjoyed the St Sulpice plaza with the Da Vinci Code church and the Wall of the Drunken Boat.

I'm going in October also and am staying in Le Marais but am looking for something else to compare. Where have you stayed in the past?
