Paris, France: Recommended Hotel and Several Restaurants

My wife and I were in Paris the first week of October 2018. We recommend the Hotel Beaubourg which is in the Marais neighborhood in the 3rd Arrondissment. It's a boutique hotel recommended by Rick Steves and is right across from the Pompidou Center museum. The hotel is comfortable and clean and serves a delicious breakfast, including fresh mini croissants and baguette. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the neighborhood is very lively with lots of cafes within walking distance. The Picasso Museum also is less than 10 blocks away. It's also very convenient to the Metro. I would strongly recommend a stay at the Hotel Beaubourg!

Restaurants: Le Cavalier Bleu is a short walk from the hotel and puts you right in the middle of a block with other cafes, bakeries and other shops. We went there several hours after our transcontinental flight and really enjoyed our meals of traditional French cooking and the atmosphere. We also suggest La Place Royale at the Place de Vosges. Wonderful restaurant with outdoor seating and an extensive wine list. A fairly wide range of French dishes, including seafood. Less than a 20-minute walk from the hotel.

And, as you continue to stroll the streets of Paris in the late afternoon or evening, by all means, treat yourself to an aperatif or other drink at the wide variety of cafes. It's amazing how late into the evening Parisians enjoy their cafes!

Thanks for sharing your travel experience in Paris & recommending the Hotel Beaubourg I love the fact that it is not only a good place to stay with good breakfast, but that the hotel is within walking distance to other places ie museums and good restaurants. Does your wife have any shopping places that she recommends? I am sure that most women like to shop & check these places out. How about any tourist spots/attractions that you & your wife would recommend. Would you also recommend traveling light ie small to medium expandable luggage or something else?
